I take great happiness in knowing that the world is perfectly imperfect, and that there truely is beauty and love everywhere. A delicate balance of dark and light. It exists in nature, our hearts, our minds, and our lives all around us. Where we focus our thoughts, we focus our energy on, and were we focus energy the universe will lovingly create it's reflection. So when we vibrate love and beauty we attract love and beauty, but when we vibrate and focus on hate and violence we attract the same, it is that simple.
We are 100% responsible for our actions, for the life we have created and the lessons and consequences that we have created. I know it's not easy. We all need more love, more forgiveness, patience and more kindness. The world is very loud, it is busy and distracting, and the Divine often whispers. What would happen if we all learned to listen again, to trust our heart and take action on our inner guidance, just think were you would be in your life now? If we learned to focus on the good, the lesson learned instead of harboring hate, guilt or regret. Quite oftten the smallest most insignificant messages and guidance are the ones that create the largest shifts for better in our lives. That tiny voice that harbors our greatest guidance and knowledge, yet so often it goes unheard.
Heres what to do, it only takes a moment.
1. Take time to meditate, learn how to turn off even if its for just 5 minutes a day.
2. Get out into Nature.
3. Lose all judgement, comparison, attachments, and live a simple life.
4. Remember the mind uses logic, but your heart uses truth, love + truth = Freedom.
5. Hold one hand on your heart, one on your stomach, quiet and still your mind and ask for guidance in a situation, notice where you feel the "answer" in your body. Does it feel good or does it feel bad, that is how to know your yes from your no. Yes it's that easy.

It's not easy, reconnecting to yourself in truth and with zero judgement.. its hard to listen to that inner voice and knowing when you’re stressed, distracted or worried. We tend to look outside of ourselves for happiness and contentment. We forget how to turn off, to be present and relax. Often losing sight of our truth and left feeling disconnected. You may live this way for a while but eventually you can no longer ignore the discomfort. And begin to long for a true desire for feeling fulfilled, loved and safe, turning inward for something that can turn the light back on, to navigate you to the end of the suffering and disconnectedness.
Here are a few of my favorite things to do to ignite that fire in your heart again and to feel connected and in the flow of things..
Have Gratitude for everything, even the smallest things. And yes even things that suck. You cannot appreciate the good in life without a few lemons from time to time.
Find forgiveness in your heart so that you can break the ties that bind your to the past. It does not mean condoning bad behavior but it frees you to live and enjoy your life in the present moment.
Lean to quiet the mind, be still and meditate. Remember the mind uses logic but your heart uses truth and reconnecting in this way will help you find and listen to that inner guidance.
Nurture body mind and spirit. Part of loving yourself is being present and paying attention to your needs. Eating healthy foods, moving your body, resting when your tired.
Make decisions with love, always and unconditionally. Fear is the enemy of love. One will drive the other away. Too much fear will drive the love out of our hearts. Fear has purpose, but when we use it as a tool in our life decisions in replacement of love, we lose our connection to our life path, to the divine, and our guidance and inner navigation light begins to dim. When you make decisions with love in your heart it connects to your purpose and generates love and abundance.
Know that you’re a co-creator with the universe and everything in your life is a direct reflection of how you are presently using your generative power. This includes your health, quality of relationships, marital status, the satisfaction or absence of it in your daily experience and your work. What your focus you mind on is where all of your energy is directed, be mindful of what you cultivate in your life. Use positive affirmation to create feelings of safety, nurturing, and love in your life.
Let love navigate you home again, always.

Why is it so hard to lost weight now that I'm in my 40's, what the heck is going on. I used to be able to lose 5-10lbs within two weeks hands down like it was nothing. Now I have this roll of fat on my belly that I just can't get rid off! its so stubborn... Well, there are a lot of reasons why, stress, over eating, hormone imbalance, and more. But when you get to middle age a lot of issues with difficulty losing weight boils down to one thing, Metabolic Sediment.. say what? Well here's what maybe going on, lets take it from the ground up.
In order to get healthy and lose weight first we have to have optimum functioning right down to our tiny little cells. They require oxygen, nutrients and must rid themselves of carbon dioxide, metabolic wastes and require protection from toxic chemicals. (science class) - Our capillaries act as a transportation system to supply the cells and remove their waste. There are also lymphatic drainage channels found in the tissue spaces that are designed to carry away excess fluid which the capillaries cannot cope with. The more sediment builds up in the tissue spaces, the more it is likely to trigger mild inflammatory reactions. This sends signals to the body to try to pump in water carrying macrophages that are intended to digest the sediment. When this mechanism gets overwhelmed water retention can gradually develop in the tissues. It can cause considerable weight gain and is extremely common in middle age. Which is one of the reasons why as we age losing weight becomes more difficult.
The problem is that when the tissue spaces become loaded with sediment and water, the cells get pushed further and further away from each other and from their life lines – the capillaries. Oxygen starvation can cause profound problems to the body’s energy production (you know .. when your get up and go has got up and gone). Lactic acid and carbon dioxide levels rise and this sets the scene for cell death, DNA damage, cancers and worsening inflammation which eventually can lead to autoimmune damage.
If your like me you not going to let that happen. Hence the Cleanse. I use real food cleanses that eliminate the 5 major allergen food groups and give your poor little capillaries and cells a chance to heal them selves, poor babies. So I hear a lot of people on the cleanse talk about how they are running to the bathroom at night, they purposely didn't have a glass over water but are going over and over and over again. Its your body releasing water weight.. beautifully. That's your sign to know your body is healing its self down to the cellular level. It promotes self healing so your body can lose not only water weight but any excess fat accumulated a lot more easily and efficiently.
Here are some other foods or herbs that maybe helpful with the release of water weight and toxins. Good old flavonoids rutin and quercetin they really can help . Coumarin which is found in celery juice and clover tea, golden seal helps Kuepfer cells, bromelain helps to digest metabolic sediment, vitamin c strengthens the epithelial tissues etc.

When the weather starts to get a little chilly up here in the North East, I love a good hearty cup of soup. This recipe really is one of my favorites. It's packed with tons of good nutrition and it tastes amazing. But most of all its so easy to make.
Ingredients, Organic and Local if possible:
1 bag of dried lentil beans
3 tbsp. coconut oil
3 cloves of garlic
Ginger Root about 1 inch
2 tbsp. Tumeric
1 large diced Tomato
Chili Pepper Flakes
Pink Himalayan Salt
4 cups of Chicken Stock (or Vegetable)
Handful each of Kale or Spinach (or your favorite leafy green)
Take a bag of dried Lentil beans and empty them into a glass bowl. Add enough clean filtered water to top the beans. Soak them overnight to remove any phytic acid and other impurities, rinse to remove any debris and strain.
In the pot add 3 tablespoons of refined coconut oil sauté 1 small onion until golden brown, then add 3 large whole cloves of garlic, the lentils and 4 cups of chicken stock (or your favorite vegetable or beef stock).
Next add 2 tbsp. cinnamon, 2 tbsp. chili pepper flakes, add 5 tbsp. turmeric, and ¼ bunch of cilantro, thumb size of ginger root, thumb size kombu.
Add spinach, carrots, tomatoes, and put the leafy greens in about 10 minutes or so before its done.
Simmer for 1 hour, remove any foam, add himalayan salt and pepper to taste.

Why Should You Care About Pesticides?
There are over 60,000 chemicals being produced today with organochlorines (Dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane, or DDT, and Polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs, among others) being the most dangerous. They're a chemical estrogen, which means that when we're exposed to them our bodies cannot tell the difference between our own hormones or the chemical. Hormones alter the sensitivity of the immune system and this can really wreak havoc in many systems in our body. One type of chemical called dioxin is extremely toxic in small doses and can cause changes in thyroid hormone metabolism. It’s found in many sources, such as the paper in cigarettes, products made or treated with chlorine, the incineration of house hold waste, to even being found in food packaging. Another trigger for thyroid dysfunction is exposure to mercury such as from a tooth fillings, coal burning or vaccines containing thimerosal. Mercury can inhibit thyroid hormone production by occupying iodine binding sites and can inhibit thyroid hormone actions causing hypothyroid symptoms.

This is the version of beet juice I drank daily that helped me reverse my autoimmune thyroid disease. I would make a weeks worth and drink about 4-6 oz a day in the morning. I made this recipe for people like me that do not want to drink something that tastes like dirt, it had to be good or I wouldn't do it and I am being really honest here.
This recipe is wonderful to support the body to detoxify, purify the blood, cleanse the liver, helps you to think clearer, helps to lower blood pressure, has anti-inflammatory properties, and aids in weight loss.
Use your Juicer
2 cups carrots
3 stalks of celery
1/2 inch ginger root
1 1/2 lemons juice
Optional - only for hyperthyroidism - 3 Radishes
To good health.. bottoms up!
This is a gluten free granola recipe that is absolutely delicious and satisfying. It can be eaten as a snack, breakfast with almond milk, or sprinkled on your favorite yogurt. For a little extra thyroid support add brazil nuts. Or for some healthy omega 3's you can add walnuts or flax seeds. Remember to use organic products, and raw nuts and seeds.
1/2c unrefined coconut oil melted
2c rolled oats
1/4c pumpkin seeds
1/4c sunflower seeds
1/2c dried coconut shredded and unsweetened
1/2c real maple syrup
1/4c dried cranberries
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine all of the ingredients except the raisins and dried cranberries.
Spread a thin layer of the granola on a large cookie sheet and bake for about 15-20 minutes depending on your oven. Make sure you turn the granola on the cookie sheet a few times while backing to avoid burning. Add in the cranberries and raisins once removed from the oven.
This lasts for a quite a few weeks so you can portion them into little containers for storage and enjoy!

Handful Frozen Mango Slices
1 cup Water
Handful of Kale
Handful of Spinach
Organic freshly squeezed Apple juice
Fruit of your choice
Combine ingredients and blend until smooth. Add a cup of ice if you like your smoothies extra cold, and Enjoy!
